Eco-Printed Eucalyptus Tank Top #001 — Size XL

Sizing warning: these ribbed-fit tanks run very small. I recommend choosing 2 sizes larger than your usual size. Before ordering, lay a tank that fits you well flat, measure across the bust from armpit to armpit, and compare with the measurements in this description and the Size Guide. The width is measured flat, not all the way around the chest.

I hand-printed this one-of-a-kind all-cotton tank top using Eucalyptus leaves foraged directly from Trader Joe's (Eucalyptus does not grow well in my state.) No two pieces in my shop are ever identical. The designs are colorfast and lightfast and will not wash out, but care for your purchase gently.

The Process: With this tank I laid the leaves on the fabric then used a dye blanket (cloth) that was soaked in Madder natural dye. It was then laid on top of the Eucalyptus leaves and all rolled up together. I tightly wrapped this tank into a bundle around a pipe. I then simmered the bundle for 60 minutes in an electric turkey roaster to get this beautifully colored tank.

Sizing warning: these ribbed tanks run very small. They're washed in very hot water before dyeing and printing, so they've shrunk. This tank measures 12 ½" across the bust, stretches comfortably to 16"–17", and is 25 ¾" long. Measure a tank you already own and compare before ordering. Care: Hand wash cold with mild pH-neutral soap, or machine wash on a delicate cycle. Hang to dry out of direct sunlight to protect the natural plant pigments.
