Eco-Printed Rayon Scarf #097

This one-of-a-kind, hand-printed Rayon scarf captures the beauty of nature with large chartreuse leaf silhouettes, warm rosy tones of the peony leaves, green sumac branches and sprays of purple gray spots created from red fuzzy Sumac berries highlighted against a creamy background. Rayon fabric is a little warmer and heavier than the delicate silks. It drapes beautifully around your shoulders, adding an earthy, artistic touch to a simple outfit. No two pieces in my shop are ever identical. The designs are colorfast and lightfast and will not wash out, but care for your purchase gently.

The Process: With this  shawl I laid the leaves on the fabric and I tightly wrapped all this into a bundle around a pipe and simmered the bundle for 60 minutes in an electric turkey roaster to get this beautifully printed scarf.

Fabric: 100% Rayon

Care: Hand wash cold with mild pH-neutral soap, or machine wash on a delicate cycle. Hang to dry out of direct sunlight to protect the natural plant pigments.
