Eco-Printed Raw Silk Shawl/Scarf #093

This one-of-a-kind, hand-printed Raw Silk shawl/ scarf captures the beauty of nature with a striking palette of greens and rust against a creamy background.  It drapes beautifully around your shoulders, adding an earthy, artistic touch to a simple outfit. Yet this fabric can be used in sewing your own creation, used for quilting, as a table runner or draped dramatically across your sofa.  The edges are unfinished with a slight fringe.No two pieces in my shop are ever identical. The designs are colorfast and lightfast and will not wash out, but care for your purchase gently.

The Process: With this  shawl/ scarf I laid the leaves on the fabric and I tightly wrapped all this into a bundle around a pipe and simmered the bundle for 60 minutes in an electric turkey roaster to get this beautifully printed scarf. 

The Botanicals: Features rust colored coreopsis flowers, sweet gum leaves and Japanese maple leaves

Care: Hand wash cold with mild pH-neutral soap, or machine wash on a delicate cycle. Hang to dry out of direct sunlight to protect the natural plant pigments.
