Eco-Printed Rayon Scarf #095

This one-of-a-kind, hand-printed Rayon scarf captures the beauty of nature with large chartreuse leaf silhouettes and sprays of purple gray spots created from red fuzzy Sumac berries highlighted against a creamy background. Rayon fabric is a little warmer and heavier than the delicate silks. It drapes beautifully around your shoulders, adding an earthy, artistic touch to a simple outfit. No two pieces in my shop are ever identical. The designs are colorfast and lightfast and will not wash out, but care for your purchase gently.

The Process: With this  shawl I laid the leaves on the fabric and I tightly wrapped all this into a bundle around a pipe and simmered the bundle for 60 minutes in an electric turkey roaster to get this beautifully printed scarf.

Care: Hand wash cold with mild pH-neutral soap, or machine wash on a delicate cycle. Hang to dry out of direct sunlight to protect the natural plant pigments.
